We've had a MAKE OVER!!!
How do you like our new look? On top of making jewelry I am also
the webmaster. I decided it was time for a new look. I hope you like
it.
This really is a two woman operation. My mom has been making jewelry
and goes to all the shows. She deserves equal billing. We are now:
The
Bead Addict
Jewelry
by Kelley & Shirley Clarke
History
I’ve been making jewelry for
about seven years. I started because a friend of mine always had the perfect
jewelry for every outfit she wore and I was jealous. I decided that I couldn’t
afford to buy jewelry for every outfit I had (believe me I tried). So I set out
to make my own. That’s how I discovered my addiction to beads. Now I have to
buy outfits to go with my jewelry. Somehow I managed to get really turned
around.
I also found out that jewelry
makes a really great gift. So my friends and family started getting jewelry for
birthdays, holidays, etc., fueling my addiction. Then they actually started
asking me to make specific things for them. The little light bulb in my head
went off and said "a way to pay for all of these beads". HA!!! It was
just an excuse to buy MORE beads.
To make a long story short, I am
now in the business of being addicted to beads (OOPS, I meant making jewelry). I
feed other people's addictions at craft and jewelry shows, through this web site
and custom orders. My mom is my right-hand and is an integral part of The
Bead Addict. (Do you think this addiction is genetic?)
Special Thanks
The Bead Addict would not be possible with out my
mom (now a full-blown bead addict), dad
(moral and carpentry support), and my friend Pat
(who always helps out when we need her). I really owe them a great deal of thanks (since I
still can’t
afford to pay them). Oops, I can’t forget Yvonne who started this whole thing
in the first place. Also my brother
(the true webmaster in the family) for technical support.
About Me
My favorite place on Earth (Grand
Teton National Park, Wyoming)
My two favorite pastimes are (SURPRISE):
Shopping for Beads
Making Jewelry
(Did I mention shopping for beads?)
When I’m not doing any of the above I like to:
Putz on my computer
Listen to music (goes well with my other addictions).
Quilting (an addiction that has been temporarily cured by my addiction to
beads).
My Family
I have two parents, one brother,
one sister-in-law, one nephew (a really cool kid), two
cats, and two English Mastiff’s (they
live with mom and dad but they belong to all of us, just ask mom). Can't
forget about Pat, she is the closest thing I have
to a sister.
